Christmas Scents

Hot chocolate, made with oat milk (the best vegan milk to make it with!) Christmas pyjamas, cosy socks, a thousand layers of hats and scarfs, twinkling lights, cold noses and mulled wine. Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Christmas is one of my favourite time of the year for nice smells.  Candy canes, pine needles and frankincense are among my favourite scents for the season.  I always love to get new perfumes and body wash to match when the season changes. Listed below is what I am loving to wear at the moment and what is getting me in the festive spirit.

Lush Naked Santa’s Christmas body wash– I went into lush a few weeks ago as I’d seen their new packagless products. A genius idea as it means zero waste. Guilt free shopping! I must admit I spent a bit more than I should of, the staff are just so nice in lush. I picked up Santa’s Christmas body wash and I love it. It has a nice cola bottle scent. Not having the usual plastic around the product is quite different to what I’m used to. I was worried that this would feel like soap but as soon as you run into under the water and lather it into a loofah it feels the exact same as normal body wash. I also thought this might run out quickly, but I really can’t see much of a dent in it and I’v been using it every day over December! The only thing that can be annoying is storing it. I place mines on a little dish in my bathroom cupboard, but it can leave a little puddle of product on the dish and can stay quite slimy (don’t know how else to describe it but slimy sounds gross but it’s not) which can be annoying cause I feel like it might waste product but as I said before I’v barley noticed a change in the product since using it. All in all, this really isn’t much different to plastic covered body wash but with no packaging. Win win. I would highly recommend

Lush Naked Body conditioner Bucks fizz– When I was in the store I tired this on my arm without adding water and was disappointed it felt alright but didn’t get much of a smell of it. I knew you had to use it wet but I still left wishing I had bought the normal body moisturizer as I felt that had a stronger smell but I was on a mission to not buy things with packaging. However when I got home and tried this properly in the shower I was beyond pleased. I cant believe how strong and orangy this smells its amazing. Also makes your skin feel super soft as well. I am so happy with the product also cant wait to have an actual bucks fizz on Christmas morning! The only thing I’m finding with this product is that I am worried it wont last that long as I have noticed it getting smaller. Its very moisturising so you only need a little bit so I’m going to try use this a little more sparingly.

Eden Perfumes No.483– I’m still on the Eden perfume hype. They just have so much choice at great quality and price. For Christmas I got their version of Jo Malone pomegranate Noir. Whenever I’v been in Jo Malone I’v smelled this and thought it was Christmassy. The Eden version doesn’t disappoint. Its warm and spicy but slightly fruity. I really love strong heavy smells like this so I am obsessed with it and have had a fair amount of compliments on it! Iv built up a wee collection now of Eden perfumes and you can actually send empty bottles to get re fills which I’m going to do next time so zero waste again!

Harpers Candles let it snow – finally what smells more Christmassy than a Christmas candle ? This is a gorgeous mix of peppermint, vanilla and frankincense think of a slightly spicy candy cane. I’m super impressed with how strong this smells. Its beautiful and I burn it every time I watch a Christmas movie and I just feel like a little cosy, festive elf.

Hope everyone is having a lovely decemeber

  1. this is super helpful! I am a plant-based eater trying to transition to all cruelty-free beauty products. Fragrance in particular has been difficult. any other brand recommendations besides Eden?
